Just BARE is teaming up with Roots for the Home Team, a program for Twin Cities-based urban youth that develops and sells salads at professional baseball games. The brand will also be working with Urban Roots, a Saint Paul-based organization with a mission to build vibrant and healthy communities through food, conservation and youth development.

As a sponsor since the program’s inception in 2012, Just BARE provides financial support to Roots for the Home Team, a groundbreaking program that partners with youth garden programs in ethnically diverse areas of the Twin Cities. Roots participants from Minneapolis and Saint Paul roll up their sleeves to learn how to plant and nurture veggies and herbs then pairs the produce with creativity by developing delicious salad recipes that are served at Target Field during Minnesota Twins’ weekend home games. In 2015, Just BARE will also support Urban Roots, a program striving to nurture youth and, in turn, strengthen the future of communities. Just BARE supports the summer garden events for Urban Roots through in-kind donations of Just BARE chicken boneless skinless chicken breasts and thighs. Two Urban Roots events, taking place on July 21 and July 28, will unite 60 youth interns with chefs. The July 21 event will feature a local chef working with youth to create classic Creole dishes along with an opportunity to participate in a professional development workshop, which includes mock interviews and resume building. During the July 28 event, youth will receive culinary training from another local Twin Cities chef who will be stirring up Indian specialties.
