JUST BARE® CHICKEN HELPS SUPPORT REVITALIZATION OF URBAN COMMUNITIES ACROSS AMERICA

St. Cloud, Minn. (October 23, 2017) — Pilgrim’s is announcing that Just BARE® chicken—a brand known for raising goodness through its mission of good food for more—is the presenting sponsor of the 7th Annual Desire Cup Golf Tournament on October 27 at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

This premier event built around the annual Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators football game, brings together 60 University of Florida Gator fans and 60 University of Georgia Bulldog fans to go head-to-head in a Ryder Cup golf format for 18 holes. It includes celebrity players for each side, including Danny Wuerffel, Executive Director of Desire Street Ministries. In addition, there is a sponsor reception and dinner on October 26 at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse. More information is available at www.desirestreet.org/desirecup.

Proceeds from the tournament help support Desire Street Ministries as they coach and care for leaders of ministries reaching hundreds of kids in under-resourced neighborhoods of cities across the Southeastern U.S.

“We are proud to sponsor the 7th Annual Desire Cup Golf Tournament because we believe Desire Street Ministries’ vision of partnering with leaders in developing thriving and sustainable urban ministries is complementary to the initiatives Just BARE chicken supports—in this case, hunger relief and community enrichment,” explained Julie Berling, Pilgrim’s head of consumer branding, insights, and communication.

Desire Street Ministries is a non-profit led by Wuerffel, which seeks to transform neighborhoods in desperate need of revitalization into flourishing, healthy communities. It believes that bolstering leaders in those neighborhoods is the best route toward that goal. Desire Street, its local ministry partners, and the greater community are all striding forward together on this path toward revitalization of communities across America.

Just BARE contributes to causes that build stronger communities, and invites consumers to feed their passions for a healthier future by raising goodness®. The brand supports initiatives focused on hunger relief, community enrichment and environmental protection, just to name a few. “We invite people to be inspired, like we are, by individuals and organizations who selflessly champion community causes with passion and perseverance,” Berling concluded.
