Every day, we're taking little steps to minimize our impact on the environment and make our chicken healthy for our planet, too. Our vision:  to balance the needs of our business with those of our people, animals, and planet, without compromising the health and well-being of the generations to follow.

 

For example:

  • Gold'n Plump Poultry - the company behind Just BARE® - is one of 60 companies measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for products and supply chains by road testing a new global framework that is part of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative.  The road test involves two new GHG protocol standards developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.  The line of Just BARE products will be measured in the road test.  Click here to read the official news release from WRI.
  • Working with Renewable Choice Energy, a small portion of every Just BARE® purchase goes towards buying renewable energy credits (RECs) and verified emission reductions (VERs). These credits offset the carbon emissions from the energy used in our operations for this and all Just BARE products. Learn what this means at renewablechoiceenergy.com.
  • Just BARE is packaged in a recyclable paperboard sleeve and a #1 PET/PETE plastic tray that's recyclable on a limited basis (goodbye foam!).
  • We use 100% of every chicken, so nothing is wasted.
  • We use nutritious by-products from bakeries and breweries as food for our chickens.  These by-products are excellent and wholesome sources of calories for our chicken feed that otherwise would create disposal and environmental challenges further down the stream.
